PATHWAY MINISTRIES

Walking A Journey Together

“A spiritual gift is given to each of us so we can help each other.” (1 Corinthians 12:7)

The Mission: To serve Jesus Christ by serving others, sharing our greatest gift, the love of Jesus Christ, to the family of Gracepointe Church and beyond the walls of our church, by living out the Gospel through the ministry of presence and availability as we walk in love with those facing uncertainty, sickness, family struggles, life changing news, a sudden loss, a death of a loved one, or other unforeseen circumstances, by sharing the gifts given by God individually by those called and equipped by life to serve and walk with those in need.

MORE ABOUT PATHWAY MINISTRIES

Q. Is training needed for this ministry?
A. Yes, the greatest teacher is the Lord and the life pathways He has allowed each of us to walk. The in person training will be facilitated by Chris Pope.

Q. What is the ultimate goal of this ministry?
A. To meet people where they are in life, following the model given to us by Jesus Christ, and walking with people to point them to Christ. In doing so, deepen relationships with Jesus Christ, and continue to radically impact Gracepointe Church, and the greater Denton area. In turn, we will see a growth in our people as they serve, and our church overall.

Q. How do we identify those in need?
A. Conversations, relationships, phone calls, any type of communication through which a need/opportunity is expressed.

Q. How does this ministry begin with a person/family?
A. It begins with a referral to the Pathways Ministry, which will then reach out to the person/family to begin a relationship and attempt to set up a time to meet with the person/family to determine not only the need(s), but also how to best assist, and who would be a good match for the person/family along with situation/dynamic(s).

Q. Who are some examples of people that would benefit from Pathways?
A. A person/family who would like someone to come and pray with them before a surgery or decision, hospital visits, elderly and/or shut ins, a person/family who receives life changing news, etc., areas where each person has been affected in life, and have been equipped by God to walk similar Pathways with others.

Q. How long would someone involved in Pathways walk together?
A. As long as needed for the respective situation, moving forward and providing additional support as needed.

Q. Are things confidential and what if things change?
A. Yes, unless there are extenuating circumstances in place and/or that arise. The Pathways team will meet and come together on a regular basis, and will report to the Senior Ministry Leadership to share concerns/opportunities/progress.

Q. Who can we not help?
A. Folks who do not know about this ministry and/or people who may not believe they need help or want to “go it alone.”

“With all humility and gentleness, with patience, bearing with one another in love.” (Ephesians 4:2)
